<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized semiconductor device that takes relatively long time for controlling a writing operation and the like. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor device comprises bit line control circuits BLC(1U,1) and BLC(1U,2) provided for first and second memory cell arrays, respectively, a control signal line connected in common to the bit line control circuits BLC(1U,1) and BLC(1U,2) for transmitting a first control signal XCont(1U), and control signal lines connected to the bit line control circuits BLC(1U,1) and BLC(1U,2) for transmitting second and third control signals YCont(1) and YCont(2), respectively.
