<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method in which a coating solution containing a lyotropic liquid crystal compound and a solvent is applied on a base material and the orientation direction of the compound is parallel (parallel-oriented) to the application direction. <P>SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing an optical laminated body comprising a step A and a step B is used. Step A: Rubbing treatment is performed in one direction on the surface 10a of a polymeric base material 10 comprising acrylate polymer having a bornane ring in a side chain.
