<p>A method and device for releasing source-side resources rapidly in handover is disclosed in the invention. The method includes following steps: after receiving a User Equipment (UE) context release message, the source Evolved Node B (eNB) judges whether end flag packets have been received from all the bearers for data forwarding, if yes, the source eNB releases all the resources associated with the UE, otherwise, the source eNB starts a data forwarding timer and releases all the resources associated with the UE immediately when the timer expires; before the data forwarding timer expires, if the source eNB judges that said end flag packets have been received from part of the bearers, then it releases the user plane resources associated with the part of the bearers, or if the source eNB judges that said end flag packets have been received from all the bearers, then it releases all the resources associated with the UE immediately.</p> |
