<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which enables long-term and effective removal of foreign matters adhering to a surface of a charging member. <P>SOLUTION: A magnet roller 20 comprises multiple magnetic poles (eight poles here) including alternately and circumferentially arranged N poles and S poles, and is placed leaving the prescribed interval with a charging roller 3. A two-component developer composed of a magnetic carrier and a toner is beforehand carried on a surface of the magnet roller 20. A magnetic field of N poles and S poles forms a magnetic brush M comprising the toner and the carrier rising up in a brush shape, on the surface of the magnet roller 20. When a rotation of the magnet roller 20 causes the magnet brush M to rub on the surface of the charging roller 3, foreign matters on the surface of the charging roller 3 are electrically attracted to the magnetic brush M. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
