<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detecting device and a shift lever device capable of making it difficult to cause erroneous determination when detecting a position, even if a detecting means should fail. <P>SOLUTION: A magnet is arranged on a shift lever 3, an MR element 1 is arranged in a device body 2, and an operation position of the shift lever 3 is determined by detecting a magnetic field of the magnet by an MR sensor 1. The shift lever takes a momentary system, and when the shift lever is operated from a neutral position to the other position, it returns automatically to the original neutral position thereafter. When determining the position by sensor output of the MR element 1, when the shift lever takes motion of going and return, the output of the MR element 1 changes two times, that is, changes reciprocatably. Thus, when confirming that the sensor output of the MR element 1 takes a reciprocating change, a determination is made that the shift lever 3 is operated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
