FILLER TREATMENT AGENT AND PAPER CONTAINING FILLER TREATED THEREBY

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filler treatment agent which applies microgel for pretreatment of a filler to improve opacity and whiteness and to prevent reduction of paper strength, and paper containing the filler treated thereby.

SOLUTION: A filler treatment agent which has water-insoluble particle gel as a main component having a particle size of 0.005-100 μm after swelling in water is obtained by polymerization of a monomer solution containing at least cationic water soluble monomers after a water-in-oil type emulsion is prepared. The filler treatment agent is premixed with a filler to prepare an aqueous dispersion of the filler which is added to the paper making material slurry to make the paper.
