METALLIC COATING COMPOSITION AND COATING FILM-FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic coating composition which has a feeling of particles having high chroma capable of being applied to various industrial products, particularly automotive outer panels and can form a coating film superior in a feeling of depth and a coating film-forming method which can form a coating film.

SOLUTION: The metallic coating composition includes a colored aluminum pigment and a glass flake pigment coated with a metal oxide and the difference Δh in hue angle in the L*C*h color system between the color of the colored aluminum pigment and the interference color of the glass flake pigment coated with a metal oxide is in the range of 0-120°. The coating film-forming method comprises coating the coating composition on a base material and further coating a clear coating thereon.
