PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for efficient radio resource allocation.

SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a transmission and reception device and a method for channel quality information (CQI) of the communication system having frames including sub-channels corresponding to the same frequency reuse rate or mutually different frequency reuse rates. A base station allocates one or more sub-channels of the frame to a mobile station and requests the mobile station to transmit channel quality information on sub-channels to be received. The mobile station measures channel quality of each of the sub-channels that the base station requests in response to a CQI request, and transmits the measured channel quality to the base station.
