PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reforming catalyst for tar-containing gas which converts crude gas which is generated in thermally decomposing carbonaceous raw materials such as coal and biomass and contains tar composed of heavy chain carbon hydride or fused polycyclic aromatic carbon hydride, and also, contains a high concentration of hydrogen sulfide, or the tar-containing gas such as refined gas, to light chemical substances e.g. carbon monoxide and hydrogen at high performance and stably, in the presence of catalyst, as well as a method for manufacturing the reforming catalyst and a method for reforming the tar-containing gas.SOLUTION: This reforming catalyst for tar-containing gas is a composite oxide represented by aM/bNi/cMg/dO. Here, a, b and c meet a+b+c=1, 0.02≤a≤0.98, 0.01≤b≤0.97 and 0.01≤c≤0.97. Here, d is the value at which oxygen and a cationic element become neutral electrically. M is at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Li, Na and K. |
