The reception structure has receiving pockets (4) that are arranged in a layer-wise manner, where reach receiving pocket provides two flat flexible pocket walls (4', 4''), between which a battery cell is introduced. The two layer-wise adjacent receiving pockets are directly or indirectly joined with one another. The temperature-controllable battery cell arrangement for any number of individual battery cells, comprises a reception structure (3) individually, partially and flatly surrounding the battery cells, and tempering medium thermally contacted with the reception structure. The reception structure has receiving pockets (4) that are arranged in a layer-wise manner, where reach receiving pocket provides two flat flexible pocket walls (4', 4''), between which a battery cell is introduced. The two layer-wise adjacent receiving pockets are directly or indirectly joined with one another, so that a passage channel (5) flow-throughable by the tempering medium is provided between the adjacent receiving pockets. The front sides of all battery cells arranged in the receiving pockets of the reception structure are oriented towards a common plane. The passage channel is oriented parallel to the front sides of the battery cells. The reception structure is made of rectangular-shaped frame and disposes over a layer-like or sheet-like construction. The receiving pocket provides two quadratic or rectangular foil-like congruently arranged pocket walls in a first layer before the intermediate battery cells cover in a surface-concise manner. A second receiving pocket similarly formed similarly to the first receiving pocket closes congruently to the first receiving pocket under the formation of a layer stack, where the passage channel is enclosed between the first and second receiving pockets. The passage channel openly penetrates the layer stack from one side to the opposite side of the layer stack. The receiving pockets close themselves to the first and second receiving pockets under the formation of a quadratic layer stack, which provides a front side and a rear side and two side surfaces, so that all the front sides of all the battery cells provided with one contact electrode are arranged along the front side of the quadratic layer stack and so that the inlet openings and the outlet openings assignable to the passage channels flow to the side surfaces of the quadratic layer stack. The battery cell per layer is hermetically enclosed to the side surfaces at both sides. A distribution unit for the tempering agent fluid-tightly limits at a side surface of the quadratic layer stack at one side, encloses a volume, in which a pipeline flows for the tempering agent and has openings corresponding to the inlet openings or outlet openings of the passage channel.</p>
