PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle wireless communication apparatus capable of improving the responsiveness when the position of a portable machine is specified.SOLUTION: The on-vehicle wireless communication apparatus 10 includes: an antenna 13; an antenna output control part 11 that transmits a request signal for requesting a response to a portable machine 200 from the antenna 13, and sets transmitting areas 1-3 to two or more predetermined multiple staged breadths spreading outward a vehicle 100 with the antenna 13 as a base point; and a key matching control part 14 that confirms if the response has been made from the portable machine 200 to the request signal transmitted in each transmitting area 1-3. If the response from the portable machine 200 is not confirmed by the key matching control part 14, the antenna output control part 11 transmits the request signal so that the transmitting area becomes wider, and if the response from the portable machine 200 is confirmed, the antenna output control part 11 transmits the request signal so that the transmitting area becomes the narrower. |
