Provided is an electric-power management system, wherein the voltage of a power distribution-line grid is stabilized within a prescribed range. In this electric-power management system, an area controller transmits to section controllers information about the target electric-power and information about the current electric-power, and the section controllers calculate the difference between the information about the target electric-power and the information about the current electric-power that were received from the area controller, and also calculate the amount of demand-supply-adjustment of electric-power to be requested on the basis of the difference between the two electric-power information. Facility equipment controllers transmit to the section controller power-receiving / power-sending capability information about equipment that can receive or send electric-power within the facilities wherein the applicable facility equipment controllers are installed, and the section controllers transmit the amount of demand-supply-adjustment to be requested to each of the equipment on the basis of the power-receiving / power sending capability information about each of the equipment. The facility equipment controllers then transmit control signals to each of the equipment on the basis of the amount of demand-supply-adjustment to be requested to each of the equipment received from the section controller, to the facility equipment controllers of the facilities wherein the equipment are installed.
