PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel having display performance of high definition and high luminance, as well as, low power consumption.SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of a plasma display panel, a protective layer 9 has a base film 91 formed on a dielectric layer 8, and aggregated particles 92, in which the crystal particles 92a of magnesium oxide are aggregated in plurality are adhered and formed on the base film 91; the base film 91, moreover, is formed of a metal oxide composed of at least two or more oxides selected from among magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, strontium oxide and barium oxide; and in the X-ray diffraction analysis of the base film 91 surface, the metal oxide has a peak existing between a minimum diffraction angle and a maximum diffraction angle in a specific azimuth surface generated from a unit body of the oxide that compose the metal oxide. |
