Disclosed are a method and apparatus for measuring the distance between nodes. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, at least N nodes are arbitrarily selected from a plurality of nodes located in a network, the N arbitrarily selected nodes are used to form n-dimensions (where N>n and n=1), coordinates are determined for other nodes in the n-dimensions formed using the distance between the N arbitrarily selected nodes and another node, and the determined coordinates are used to calculate distances between the plurality of nodes located in the network. According to the present invention, the distance between one node and another that are located in a network can be more effectively measured.
