PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and low-cost system for estimating a passenger-riding vehicle.SOLUTION: A receiving part 11 of a riding vehicle estimating device 400 receives the result of GPS positioning of a portable terminal 200 of a passenger as positional information together with the time. A train timetable data base 15 stores train timetable data. An information management part 13 manages the result of GPS positioning of the portable terminal 200 received through the receiving part 11 at each predetermined period of time as positional information together with the reception time, and calculates the traveling speed of the portable terminal 200 based on the positional information. The determination part 14 determines whether or not the vehicle is in a stop state. If it is determined that the vehicle is in the stop state, the determination part 14 determines the station where the vehicle is stopping. This determination result is stored in a data processing part 16 in association with each vehicle. At a stage where a vehicle on which the user of the portable terminal 200 rides stops at two different stations, the data processing part 16 compares the positional information of the vehicle with the train timetable, thereby estimating the vehicle on which the passenger rides. |
