[Also in Group X] In a metal wall, for example, the internal dividing walls of ships' cabins or the wall around the periphery of a ship's deck, comprising plates 1 in each of which is bent at least one reinforcement 2 in the form of a double flange having a generally U-shaped configuration, the sides 3 of the flanges are pressed towards one another and secured by spot welding or mechanical means. In order to join a plurality of plates together to form a continuous wall, each plate is formed with a single flange 5 at one end and a double flange at the other, the single flanges being inserted in the double flanges and the sides of latter then pressed towards and spot welded to the single flanges.</p> |
