PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing power consumption while maintaining high image quality. SOLUTION: An optical scanning device 2010A forms latent images on four photoreceptor drums (2030K, 2030M, 2030Y, and 2030C), and an optical scanning device 2010T forms a latent image on a photoreceptor drum 2030T. The number of light emitting portions of each light source of the light scanning device 2010A is forty, and the number of the light emitting portions of the light source of the light scanning device 2010T is ten. The optical scanning device 2010A forms a latent image at 4800 dpi, and the optical scanning device 2010T forms a latent image at 1200 dpi. A light output per beam from the optical scanning device 2010A is 1/4 times a light output per beam from the optical scanning device 2010T.
