PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping brace capable of exerting a great damping force by enabling absorption of great energy even when deformation of a building frame by earthquakes etc. is small. SOLUTION: This damping brace 10 includes a pair of brace materials 10a and 10b which are disposed in parallel with each other at a predetermined interval and in the state of overlapping each other in a direction making a leading end orthogonal to an axial direction, and a pendulum member 11 and an swing member 12, which are pivotally connected to both of the pair of brace materials 10a and 10b; and a longitudinal end of the pendulum member 11 and the swing member 12 are connected together via a vibration damping means 13. This enables amplification of deformation of the vibration damping means connected to the longitudinal end of the pendulum member, enables vibration energy to be absorbed from the small deformation of the building frame, and enables effective exertion of a damping function.
