<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a finger vein authentication device that a turn of a finger around the finger as an axis cannot be detected from an image of the finger, a nail is caught in a dent portion for a fingertip not to normally place the fingertip, and an outline of the finger cannot be photographed in a photographic system so that a photographic window is made narrower than the finger to completely close the photographic window, so that the turn of the finger cannot be detected from the outline. <P>SOLUTION: The finger vein authentication device includes, in a fingertip placing part, an X-Y matrix-like touch sensor capable of acquiring a position and a shape of the fingertip, and a shape of the fingertip placing part is formed in a flat shape easy to be placed with the finger.
