A surgical clamp 100 for guiding a key wire during a shoulder arthroplasty procedure has a guide block 105 containing a guide bore mounted upon it. The clamp is configured to engage with the scapula neck such that a key wire located in the guide bore is located in a predetermined geometrical relationship with the scapula neck. The clamp may be a pair of forceps with latching means 104 to lock them, with the guide block mounted over the pivot point of the forcep arms. A second guide block (121, figure 12) with multiple guide bores may be mounted on the first. The guide wire (140, figure 14) may have a sharp distal tip (141), an enlarged distal section (142) and a measuring scale (also 142) on its proximal end showing the distance from the tip. Alternatively, it may have a drill bit portion (162, figure 16) at its tip. |
