<p>Provided is a driving assistance device which can implement driving assistance in which potential risk is considered. Specifically provided is a driving assistance device which performs driving assistance for avoiding an object that poses a risk during driving of the vehicle on a driver of a vehicle, the device being provided with an object detection unit for detecting an object, a time-to-collision calculation unit for calculating the time to collision that is the time indicating the degree of approach of the vehicle to the object, an estimated risk degree determination unit for determining the estimated risk degree indicating the possibility that the object moves into a predicted course of the vehicle, and a driving assistance content determination unit for determining the contents of the driving assistance on the basis of the time to collision and the estimated risk degree. Consequently, even when the object is not present in the predicted course of the vehicle and no risk is manifest, potential risk regarding the object is considered at the time of the determination of the contents of the driving assistance. Thus, the driving assistance in which potential risk is considered becomes possible.</p> |
