摘要 PURPOSE: A method and a device for driving a liquid crystal display device are provided to prevent the rapid change of load of liquid crystal cells and rapid change of data voltages for minimizing the noise, and reduce the luminance difference between two horizontal lines applied with a data voltage of the same polarity for improving the screen quality. CONSTITUTION: In a method for driving a liquid crystal display device, a peak bit(MSB) of digital data is inverted by a horizontal period in response to polarity inversion signals and the digital data of which peak bit is inverted is converted to a gamma voltage. A data voltage(Data-post) supplied to a liquid crystal cell is inverted in the polarity by 2 horizontal periods. During a period where a data voltage(Data-pre) applied to the liquid crystal cell is changed from negative polarity to positive polarity and an initial period in which positive polarity is kept in a next horizontal period, the data voltage is changed to a next desired voltage level after being changed into an intermediate voltage level in response to the bit inversion signals. During a period where the data voltage(Data-post) is changed from positive polarity to negative polarity and an initial period in which negative polarity is kept in a next horizontal period, the data voltage is changed to a next desired voltage level after being changed into an intermediate voltage level in response to the bit inversion signals.
