PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compatibly achieve afterimage reduction and high transmittance when a pressing pressure is applied, in a liquid crystal display device having an IPS system liquid crystal display panel including a bent stripe-shaped electrode. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel in which a liquid crystal layer is clamped between a pair of substrates, and a pixel electrode and a common electrode are laminated on one of the pair of substrates through an insulating layer. The electrode closer from the liquid crystal layer of the pixel electrode and the common electrode is in a stripe shape having a plurality of belt-like electrode parts and has a bend part where a stretching direction changes in each belt-like electrode part. The electrode far from the liquid crystal layer of the pixel electrode and the common electrode is in a solid planar shape having a plurality of openings which are independent by bend part and through which only a projected contour of two contours in the bend part passes at the position overlapping with the bend part in the belt-like electrode part.
