<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop an optical member capable of forming a liquid crystal display device in which an optical path of the light entering from the side face of a liquid crystal display panel is changed efficiently to the visible direction, and illumination light is hardly colored and which is made thin and lightweight and has a clear and eye-friendly display. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has: the polarizer (1), which is obtained by arranging a plurality of light emission means (A), each of which has an optical path-changeable slope (a) having 35-48° inclined angle with respect to the plane of a polarizer (1C), on the surface of the polarizer (1C) exhibiting ≥0.80 (the maximum value)/(the minimum value) ratio of light transmittance per 10 nm to the light having 450-700 nm wavelength range; and the liquid crystal display panel having the polarizer on at least one surface thereof. Since the polarizer (1) is incorporated in the liquid crystal display panel, the optical path of the light entering the side face of the liquid crystal display panel can be changed to the visible direction efficiently with good directivity through the optical path-changeable slopes of the plurality of light emission means and the illumination light can be restrained from being colored. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
