PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reforming method of a separation membrane enlarging fine holes of the separation membrane formed of cellulose acetate. SOLUTION: The reforming method of the separation membrane formed of cellulose acetate is provided for enlarging fine holes of the separation membrane by bringing the separation membrane into contact with an alkali aqueous solution. The reforming method of the separation membrane is used to hydrolyze an ester bonding of an acetyl group of the cellulose acetate by the alkali aqueous solution, thereby enlarging the fine holes of the separation membrane formed of the cellulose acetate.
