SILVER POWDER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver powder enhancing conversion efficiency of a solar cell with a simple method and compounded in a conductive paste for forming an electrode of the solar cell and to provide a method for producing the same.

SOLUTION: In the silver powder coated with one or more metal soaps selected from a fatty acid magnesium salt and a fatty acid calcium salt, the weight of the metal soaps is 0.1-5 wt.% to the weight of the silver powder. The silver powder coated with the metal soaps is produced by mixing the silver powder and the one or more metal soaps selected from the fatty acid magnesium salt and the fatty acid calcium salt and disintegrating the resultant mixture.
