PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device which carries out cutting along a cutting pattern whose cutting position is adjusted in an adjusting area without causing displacement in a cutting area in the cutting device capable of transferring a sheet material from the adjusting area to the cutting area. SOLUTION: A cloth 6A is arranged at the adjusting area Aa of a support surface 21 of a cutting table 2, after the adjustment of the position of the cutting pattern 7 is carried out, and arrangement data for presenting the cutting pattern 7 is generated. A marker 38 is arranged on the surface of the cloth 6A by a cutting head 33 of a cutting unit 3 and the position of the marker 38 is detected by a sensor 35. After the cloth 6A is transferred from the adjusting area Aa to the cutting area Ac while the marker 38 is arranged by driving a conveyer 23 including the support surface 21, the position of the marker 38 is detected. The cloth 6A is cut by the cutting unit 3 according to cutting data generated by modifying the arrangement data based on the difference of detection positions of the marker 38 before and after the transfer.
