PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional switching means which can use also an on/off drive means using complementary three-terminal switching means such as a CMOSFET. SOLUTION: The bidirectional switching means includes two on/off control switching means both of which have complementary relations to each other and in both of which roles of both main electrodes can be replaced with each other depending on the directions of application voltages thereof; wherein one-side main electrode of both the on/off control switching means is connected to the other-side main electrode thereof; one-side on/off drive means is arranged between one-side opened main electrode and one-side control electrode, the other-side on/off drive means is arranged between the one-side opened main electrode and the other-side control electrode, and series circuits of both the on/off control switching means are used as bidirectional switches.
