PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately determine the deposition of a crystalline matter in a protein solution. SOLUTION: The method for determining the possibility of analyzing the crystalline structure of the deposit of a protein solution includes an original image acquisition step 81 for acquiring the electronic image of a protein solution as an original image; a pretreatment step 85 for extracting the border line of deposit in the original image for creating a binary edge detection image; an amount-of-feature extraction step 86 for scanning the state of pixels in the binary edge detection image at a certain angle for successive determination, changing the angle for repeating scanning and determination, obtaining data on a line segment that becomes one portion of the border line to each angle, and obtaining the amount of feature for reflecting the crystalline state of the deposit from the data; and a discrimination step 87 for discriminating the electronic image of the protein solution, based on the amount of feature.
