The device has a device body (10) comprising a head part defining a usage side, and a neck part supporting the head part or attached to the head part. A snap-action disk (36) is arranged at the neck part to generate an audible warning signal when a bending limit of the neck part is exceeded as a result of pressing force limit in a direction against the usage side of the head part. The neck part comprises a cavity (82), which is closed off from the surrounding area. The snap-action disk is arranged in the cavity. The device body comprises a support part (26) made of hard components. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an oral hygiene device i.e. toothbrush.
