PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner having an open panel provided on the front face thereof so as to be openable/closable, preventing an opening/closing mechanism of the open panel from becoming fluid resistance to air sucked from a suction port and preventing a problem of an appearance member into which the opening/closing mechanism is incorporated. SOLUTION: The front face side of a body comprises a front panel 7 serving as a non-movable member and the open panel 8 serving as a movable member. Since the opening/closing mechanism 13 for the open panel 8 is provided on the back face of the front panel 7, the opening/closing mechanism 13 covered with the front panel 7 does not become flow resistance to sucked air, and while generation of a turbulent flow and noise is prevented, sufficient suction air amount can be sucked. Since the opening/closing mechanism 13 is fixed on the back face of the front panel 7 as a different member, this structure can prevent occurrence of a so-called shrinkage phenomenon on the surface of the front panel 7 so as to prevent failure as the appearance member.
