PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor which is used in place of an acceleration sensor or an angular velocity sensor and consumes a smaller power than it. SOLUTION: A sensor part includes a first electrode, a second electrode disposed opposite to the first electrode, and a conductor which is disposed between the first and second electrodes in a pair and puts the paired electrodes in either of conductive state or non-coductive state. Using this sensor part, acceleration is calculated by a method for calculating the acceleration which includes first processing of calculating an index value showing the conductive state in a unit time and second processing of calculating acceleration, based on the square sum of the index value in a prescribed time.
