<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode structure for a fuel cell and a method of manufacturing the same which can control pore distribution of an electrode catalyst layer so that pores having a pore diameter, which significantly contributes to improvement of power generation performance, occupy substantially. <P>SOLUTION: The membrane electrode structure 1 for a fuel cell includes a catalyst carrier and fibrous carbon in the electrode catalyst layer 42 of a cathode 4.
