PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower part structure for an automobile capable of attaining smooth retreating of a power unit at front surface collision of the vehicle while ensuring support rigidity in a vehicle width direction of a suspension cross member at normal traveling of the vehicle and improving influence of collision load given to an occupant. SOLUTION: The suspension cross member includes an intermediate part mounting member 61 upwardly extended from a suspension cross member body; and a pipe-like mounting member 21 supported on a support part 61A provided on an upper part of the intermediate part mounting member 61. In the pipe-like mounting member 21, a side part in a vehicle width direction of a side surface part 21b and a front part and a rear part in a vehicle longitudinal direction are supported on the support part 61A respectively, and a lower part 21c is supported on the support part 61A, with low support rigidity, in the vehicle longitudinal direction than support rigidity of the side part in the vehicle width direction of the side surface part 21b, the front part and the rear part.
