PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating compressor improving the contact pressure of a gasket to ensure the seal performance and improving the compression efficiency. SOLUTION: The reciprocating compressor includes the gasket (28) which is interposed between a cylinder block and a cylinder head and has a seal section (28b) formed with a communication hole (28a) communicating with a cylinder bore (26) and formed with a lightening hole (28c) by cutting the wall at a predetermined position.
