PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic idling prevention device of an air compressor for a vehicle which can prevent idling of an air compressor by automatically cutting off power from an engine when pressure in an air tank exceeds the set pressure. SOLUTION: The device includes an air compressor 1 for a vehicle driven by a vehicular engine 2, an air tank 16 for accumulating pressure of compressed air projected from the air compressor 1 through the medium of a discharge pipe 15 and a power transmission mechanism 3 provided between a power take-out part 4 of the vehicular engine 2 and an input shaft 8a of the air compressor 1 and provided with a clutch 17 for connecting/disconnecting transmission of power. The power transmission mechanism 3 engages the clutch 17 when pressure in the air tank 16 or discharge pipe 15 is the set pressure or lower and disengages the clutch 17 when the pressure exceeds the set pressure.
