PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove impurities of a phosphor, so as to improve light emission luminance and to increase productivity of synthesis. SOLUTION: There is provided a preparation method for an electroluminescence (EL) phosphor of ZnS activated by Cu and Mn, which method comprises a step for baking a composition comprising ZnS, S, an halide of ammonium, a Cu compound and metallic Mn and washing and sieving the products obtained by baking, wherein before the baking of the composition, ZnS is put in a capsule and the ZnS is treated by explosion of an explosive surrounding the circumference of the capsule.
