PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle, surely suppressing the distortion of a rack shaft, and having a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A flat portion 93 extending in the shaft direction S1 is formed on the back surface 92 of rack teeth 91 of the rack shaft 9 of the steering device 1 for the vehicle. A plurality of rollers 23 of a rack shaft support device 22 are in rolling contact with a prescribed contact length of the flat portion 93 in the width direction of the rack shaft 9, and held by a holding unit 24. A plate-shaped biasing member 25 adjacent to the holding unit 24 is formed in a substantially rectangular plate shape, is formed in a length equal to or more than the interval L3 between the rollers 23 at the both ends of the plurality of the rollers 23 in the shaft direction S1 and a length equal to or more than the flat portion 93 in the direction of the width of the rack shaft 9, and elastically biases each roller 23 toward the flat portion 93 via the holding unit 24. A lid member 26 fixed on a rack housing 16 is opposite to the holding unit 24 while putting the biasing member 25 therebetween, so as to support the biasing member 25. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
