PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test specimen for skill evaluation of substitutional end tab working procedure, which can economically and efficiently examine a portion where weld defect tends to be caused or a portion where strength is required. SOLUTION: The test specimen for skill evaluation (1) includes a first and a second steel plates (2, 3), which are connected using a backing plate (8). On edge faces vertical to welding groove (9), that is, on the first side edge face (11), two pairs of steps (14a to 14d) are arranged so that the closest portions (16, 16) to the welding groove (9) become externally projected in relation to surrounding parts (15a, 15b). In this way, the first and second reference faces (15a, 15b) are formed. On the second side edge face (12), two pairs of steps (20a to 20d) are installed similarly, and then a third and a fourth reference faces (19a, 19b) are formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
