The present invention relates to the communication technical field and discloses a method for generating reference signal, which comprises: obtaining first control information, wherein, the first control information indicates or contains the cycle shift related information used by the terminals which belong to a service cell when the terminals transmit reference signals; transmitting the first control information to the terminals belong to the service cell, therefore the terminals which belong to the service cell generate a reference signal, according to the cycle shift related information used by the terminals when the terminals transmit reference signals, wherein the cycle shift related information is indicated by or contained in the first control information, and the changing cycle shift rules for generating reference signal used by terminals which belong to a service cell and terminals which belong to a coordinated cell are the same. The technical solution enables the User Equipment (UE) reference signals which belong to the service cell received in the coordinated cell and the UE reference signals which belong to the coordinated cell to have good orthogonality, and enables the coordinated cell to demodulate the signals from two cells more precisely, therefore improving the transmission performance of the UE signals.
