A device for separating blast-furnace slag from water comprises a chain wheel (3), a chain (1) mounted on the chain wheel (3) and hoppers (2) fixedly connected to the chain (1). Pluralities of hoppers (2) are connected to the chain (1) in series. A feeding apparatus is mounted above the hoppers (2) and comprises a buffer chamber (4). A material sieve (7) is set on the top of the buffer chamber (4) and a turnable plate (5) is set at the bottom of the buffer chamber (4). A longitudinal partition board (6) is vertically set in the buffer chamber (4) and the height of the longitudinal partition board (6) is less than that of the wall of the buffer chamber (4).
