PURPOSE: A set top box control system and method thereof using a remote controller are provided to integrate functions of necessary buttons in order to control the operation of an application. CONSTITUTION: A function expansion sensing unit(110) senses the pressure of a function extension button. A tap signal output unit(120) outputs a tap control signal corresponding to a button through an infrared module. A scroll signal output unit(130) outputs a scroll control signal coping with through the infrared module with a button in which a function is expanded. |
