PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft for engine testing having low torsional rigidity with sufficient strength, and to provide a method for easily manufacturing the shaft for engine testing. SOLUTION: A shaft 1 for engine testing device connects an output shaft of an engine 11 with a rotary shaft of a dynamometer 20 applying a load to the engine 11. The shaft 1 includes: a pair of axial end portions 2 which are arranged at both ends of the shaft, respectively; and a plurality of pillar-shaped portions 4 which are integral with the axial end portions 2 and are arranged at equal spaces around the center axis C of the shaft 1 in a circumference.
