<p>A method for compressing a nested protocol packet header and a device thereof are disclosed in the embodiment of this invention. The method and device relate to radio communication technology field, and are used to improve the compressing efficiency of the nested protocol packet header of a data packet. The method for compressing a nested protocol packet header provided by the embodiments of the present invention includes the following steps: receiving at least a data packet from a sending end, said data packet including a first compressing protocol packet header, nesting a second protocol packet header on the received data packet as a whole; processing the data packet including the nested second protocol packet header. Said processing including: coordinating part of function fields in the first compressing protocol packet header and the second protocol packet header to remove duplicated fields therein, and compressing the second protocol packet header; and then sending the processed data packet. The method and device provided by the embodiments in this invention are applicable for data transmission procedure including multi-layer nesting and compressing.</p> |
