PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly converge a tap coefficient even in if there is eccentricity in a bit pattern that a bit stream inputted to a circuit for determining the tap coefficient has, in a decision feedback equalizer (DFE). SOLUTION: A data filter circuit receives a bit stream outputted from a decision feedback equalization circuit, performs filtering so as to make uniform the number of times of appearance for each of bit patterns that the bit stream may take, and outputs the bit stream after filtering to a tap coefficient determination circuit for determining a tap coefficient and an offset of the decision feedback equalization circuit.
