A tubeless tyre repair plug comprises a solid shank 10 to plug the puncture with a head 11 at one end to abut the inner surface of the tyre, the shank 10 having a plurality of axiallyspaced ridges 13 on its surface and the head 11 having a maximum diameter greater than that of the shank by not more than three times. As shown, the head 11 is conical with a conically-recessed undersurface 23 to provide thin tapered edges 24. The shank 10 may comprise a cylindrical portion z adjacent the head which joins with a cylindrical tail 12 by a tapered portion y. The portions z, y having the ridges 13 which may comprise separate rings, or a helix. The ridges may be of D-section, or may be of triangular or trapezoidal section including a face normal to the shank axis and directed towards the head. Alternatively, when of triangular section, both faces may be inclined to the shank axis.
