A cleaner head 10 for a surface treating appliance comprises a plurality of bristles 74 formed from a material that is made up of a dispersion of carbon nanotubes within a polymer matrix. The polymer matrix may comprise a polyamide such as polyamide 6, polyamide 12 or polyamide 66. The bristles 74 can be provided on a rotatable brush bar 60 that includes having second plurality of bristles 72 which are shorter that the first plurality of bristles 74. Both sets of bristles 72, 74 are preferably formed from the material to disperse static electricity residing on a surface over which the cleaner head (10) is being manoeuvred. |
