METHOD FOR EVALUATING CENTERLINE SEGREGATION IN CONTINUOUS CASTING SLAB

PURPOSE: A method of evaluating center segregation of a continuous casting slab is provided to minimize error in a quantifying step by preventing difference in gray level between workers. CONSTITUTION: A method of evaluating center segregation of a continuous casting slab is as follows. An etched slab sample is mounted on an optical microscope connected to an image analyzer and an etched segregation particle is recognized as an image. An analysis area is set to include a center segregation line. The size and aspect ratio of each segregation particle distributed in the analysis area are measured to calculate the center segregation index of a slab.
