PURPOSE: A polygonal and notched pipe forming method and a pipe manufactured by the same are provided to form a precise polygonal or notched pipe from a circular pipe through bending without complex pressing process or face retreatment. CONSTITUTION: A polygonal and notched pipe forming method is as follows. A steel strip roll is unrolled into a long rectangular panel. First and second bending lines for first and second top faces are marked on an outer point separate from the center and bending lines for forming bent faces of a polygonal or notched pipe are marked in each bending point. The notched faces are bent using rollers first in case of a notched pipe, and both sides of the rectangular panel are folded at an angle greater than a designated angle to form first and second top faces. The inner lateral sides of the rectangular panel are bent using rollers to form a polygonal bottom face and lateral faces. The lateral sides that are adjacent to the bottom face are pressed to be bent at an angle smaller than the designated angle so that the ends of the first and second top faces contact each other and a polygonal pipe having an additional face than the desired polygon is formed. The ends of the first and second top faces are welded to form an integrated top face. The top face is pressed down using rollers to achieve the desired polygonal shape of the pipe. The polygonal pipe is cut to fixed length.
