PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending operation apparatus for endoscope which can effectively absorb the slack of wires without being affected by restrictions in the design of the operating section. SOLUTION: In the bending operation apparatus 15, a first inner peripheral side groove section 32A is installed on the top surfaces of first and second pulleys 22A and 22B, and a second inner peripheral side groove section 32B is installed on the bottom surface in the circumferential direction of the axis. In the first and second inner peripheral side groove sections 32A and 32B, the wire proximal end sections 37 of first and second wires 27A and 27B are respectively movable. When the first and second pulleys 22A and 22B rotate, one of the first and second wires 27A and 27B is fed out, and the other is taken up. At this time, if slack is generated on the wires 27A and 27B which are fed out, the wire proximal end sections 37 of the wires 27A and 27B which are fed out move in the opposite direction from the extending direction of the wires 27A and 27B in the first or second inner peripheral side groove section 32A or 32B.
